A FEMALE motorist was left extremely shaken after a man exposed himself to her and tried to block her path as she drove into Castletownbere late last Sunday week

The woman was returning from Cork that night and was passing Dinish Bridge at around midnight when she saw a man wearing a red hoodie and jeans in the middle of the road. ‘He was staggering and I slammed on the brakes,’ she recalled.

‘He kept running back and forth and every time I moved the car, he jumped in front of it. He seemed completely out of it,’ she said.

‘He then dropped his trousers and indecently exposed himself. He did the same to another car coming from Castletownbere,’ she said, describing herself at this stage as ‘trembling’. She contacted gardaí and drove on.

‘But just across from the hospital he was on the right side of the road again, and started to run again at the car, so I put the foot down and got into town,’ she told The Southern Star.

She reported the matter to Castletownbere gardaí. We were unable to get a comment from gardaí at the time of going to press.
