Minister for Agriculture, Food and Marine, Michael Creed TD and Cork FG Senator Tim Lombard have both welcomed the announcement of significant improvement works for schools in the region under the Summer Works scheme.

MINISTER for Agriculture, Food and Marine, Michael Creed TD and Cork FG Senator Tim Lombard have both welcomed the announcement of significant improvement works for schools in the region under the Summer Works scheme.

Several local schools will benefit from mechanical, roof and sanitation upgrades under the programme, as a result of €47m in total funding from the Department of Education for schools across the country.

The local schools benefitting are: 

SN Achadh Eochaille, Enniskeane; SN An Aird, Ardfield; Dunmanway Convent NS, Dunmanway; St Matthias NS, Church Road; SN Cnoc Sceach, Knockskeagh;

SN Baile Muine, Ballineen; SN Muire Na Doirini, Dreeny; Lisavaird Mixed NS, Clonakilty; Mhichil Naofa, Ballinakilla; St Mary’s Central School, Enniskeane; Scoil Muire Na nGrast, Beal Guala; Maulatrahane Central NS, Leap; St Brogan’s College, Kilbrogan and Schull Community College, Colla Road.

The Summer Works Scheme allows schools to carry out the works during the summer months, at a minimum level of disruption to students and teachers.
