A NUMBER of fuel stations across West Cork have run out of fuel at the pumps.

Lisavaird Co-Op has temporarily suspended the sale of white diesel at their filling stations.

Affected locations include Lisavaird, Ballycummer, and Manch.

In a text circulated by the Co-Op, they said the measure was being introduced 'to prioritise animal welfare across our supplier base by ensuring continuity of essential services, including milk collection and animal feed deliveries.'

The suspension will remain in place until normal deliveries of vehicle fuels resume.

Petrol and green diesel are unaffected currently.

Bandon Co-Op in Enniskeane is also out of fuel at the pumps.

Filling stations across West Cork are experiencing long queues.

Both filling stations in Skibbereen had queues at lunch time.

Pumps in Clonakilty, Bantry, Kinsale, Caheragh and Kilmeen were also reported to be very busy.

The run on petrol and diesel comes amidst fears of fuel shortages due to the ongoing protests.

Blockades at fuel terminals and ports across the country are affecting fuel deliveries.
