Injured octogenarian airlifted to hospital after Skibbereen collision

GARDAI are investigating a traffic collision in Skibbereen this evening in which an elderly man was seriously injured and airlifted to hospital.

Local Gardaí attended the scene of the single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred at Market Street, Skibbereen, this evening, Wednesday 20^th, at approximately 7.40pm.

One man, aged in his early 80s, was airlifted to hospital from the scene by helicopter. It is believed that he was the sole occupant of the car.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination.
