THE Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) has expressed disappointment at the announcement by Brittany Ferries of the cancellation of sailings between Cork and Roscoff on the Pont-Aven until June 14th.

Pat Dawson of the ITAA said the announcement by Brittany Ferries was extremely disappointing and will pose major disruptions to many Irish holidaymakers.

‘Approximately 1,500 ferry passengers were affected by last weekend’s cancellation and more travel plans, including family summer holidays will be affected by the cancellation of sailings this weekend and the weekend following. I do appreciate that Brittany Ferries have offered full refunds to passengers if arrangements to travel on another service cannot be made.’

He continued: ‘This delay has a massive impact on our customers who had planned to travel to France on Brittany Ferries this summer. Families have accommodation booked for set dates that may be difficult to change to accommodate new travel dates. This will lead to Irish visitors incurring extra costs and disruption to their holiday plans. I suggest holiday makers who have been affected by this contact their travel agent with whom they made their original booking with.’
