The Courtmacsherry RNLI all weather lifeboat is currently towing a fishing vessel into Kinsale Harbour after it got into difficulty this morning,

The Courtmacsherry RNLI all weather lifeboat is currently towing a fishing vessel into Kinsale Harbour after it got into difficulty earlier this morning.

They received the call at 11am to go to the aid of a 46 ft fishing vessel that had got into difficulties 14 miles south of The Old Head Of Kinsale. The lifeboat with a crew of seven was launched immediately in very poor conditions, with a sea swell of over four metres. They managed to locate the fishing vessel and are currently towing it back to Kinsale Harbour.

There are four crew on board the fishing vessel and conditions at sea today are poor with high winds and poor visability.It is expected that both boats will arrive back to the safe surrounds of Kinsale Harbour at approx 3.30 pm.
