Clonakilty-based Global Shares is seeking to recruit 50 new staff members.

GLOBAL Shares is set to create 50 new jobs at their base in the West Cork  Technology and Business Park in Clonakilty.

The Irish FinTech company – which manages employee share plans for companies all over the world – has also opened new offices in Cork city, Barcelona, Lisbon, Malta, Nashville and Beijing.

Global Shares, which has hired 101 new people so far this year across multiple sites, already has offices New Jersey, London, Edinburgh, Hong Kong and Munich.

'This is a really exciting time for Global Shares,' said chief operating officer Mark Purcell.

'We are experiencing rapid growth at the moment and the fact that we are creating jobs right here in Clonakilty is a real boost to the local economy. The opening of additional sites across Europe, Asia and the US is a testament to the company’s commitment to becoming the market leader in share plan management and its related software solutions.'

Global Shares provides software and services for employee equity share plan administration and has developed a customised, cloud-based platform for clients to allow them to operate across various jurisdictions, time zones and languages. Clients include blue-chip companies such as GSK, Gargill, Sage and Italian insurance company Generali.

Named as Deloitte’s “Irish fintech company of the year” in 2017, Global Shares received an investment from US private equity company, Motive Partners, last year.

The jobs currently available in Clonakilty include a role as a credit controller, a director of financial and tax reporting, various IT and development roles and operations analysts. The company is also recruiting for its offices in Nashville, Cork city, Lisbon, Hong Kong and Beijing.
