THE Celtic Ross Hotel in Rosscarbery has announced the appointment of Claire Sullivan Buttimer to their team as Event Sales Executive.

Claire has over 20 years’ experience in the Irish hotel Industry, having worked in the Slieve Russell Hotel in Cavan, the Dunadry in Belfast, Inchydoney, Maryborough House and Blarney Golf Resort in Cork, before joining the Carlton in Kinsale.

Claire has been a full-time sales manager since 2013, having booked 299 weddings for the Carlton and overseeing the planning of over 270 weddings there. It goes without saying that ‘all things wedding related’ are Claire’s passion. Her eye for detail helped the hotel reach the Southern Brides wedding Venue of the Year awards and become a finalist in the Weddings Online annual awards. She was also nominated as hotel co-ordinator of the year.

‘Winter is a becoming really popular time of year for couples getting married, and we see an increase in them year on year,’ says Claire. ‘Besides the savings to be made off-peak with hotels and venues, couples find that less of their friends are taking holidays in November through to February and given the Irish weather, you are more likely to get nice weather anytime, but in the summer! This time of year you have the added pizzazz of Christmas décor and cheer with a late November or December date.  And not forgetting February is a great month, especially when celebrating all things Love with St Valentine’s Day.’
