A CASTLETOWNSHEND family has raised funds for their local hospital to thank them for their kindness and expert care of their late father.

The Cahalane Family of Lickowen recently held a night of music and song at Mary Ann’s bar and restaurant in Castletownshend.

‘It was very well and generously supported by our family, friends, business associates and the local community,’ said Roisin Duffy, whose father passed away at Skibbereen Community Hospital.

‘The proceeds – €2,200 – have been donated to the Skibbereen Community Hospital in recognition of their outstanding care and support of a loving husband and our dear dad Pat Cahalane,’ added Roisin, whose father died on June 15th.

‘We shall be forever in their debt.  Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this worthwhile cause,’ she told The Southern Star.
