Bantry gets ready to have a ‘Marty party'

THERE will be a ‘Marty Party’ in Bantry this week at the grand opening of the €8m O’Keeffe’s SuperValu.

RTÉ’s sports commentator Marty Morrissey will cut the ribbon at the supermarket at Harbour View at 11am this Thursday 30th.‘The store will be open from 9am,’ owner Jim O’Keeffe told The Southern Star. ‘It’s a huge investment and we are absolutely delighted with the result. There will be plenty of free parking and we look forward to welcoming everybody to help us celebrate a new beginning.’

Mr O’Keeffe said that the new 1,672 sq m store is 700 sq m bigger than the existing SuperValu shop at New Street, and will employ up to 100 people.
