AN expert with the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow will be visiting Schull on Friday, March 27th next.

Organised by Whyte Books in Schull, this event will combine a book signing at 7.30pm, followed by an entertaining talk on antiques and collectibles, as well as a unique opportunity for the people of West Cork to have rare and potentially valuable items assessed by Marc Allum.

‘This is Marc’s first visit to West Cork,’ said Sheila Whyte, who bought the award-winning Whyte Books in 2012. ‘It is a real privilege to host Marc for this event, and we are delighted to be offering this evening to our customers.’

Marc has been a miscellaneous expert on the Antiques Roadshow since 1998. He has appeared on numerous television and radio programmes and is a regular contributor to a range of mainstream publications. He has published two books – The Antiques Magpie and Allum’s Antique Almanac.

With over 25 years’ experience in the antiques business, it is clear to see why Marc Allum is a regular at literary festivals in the UK. For an admission of €4 – which is redeemable against the purchase of one of Marc’s books – people can meet him in the intimate setting of Whyte Books. Wine and nibbles will be served.
