Clonakilty had a bit of extra 'Boomtown' energy this week!
O'Donovan's Hotel in Clonakilty welcomed the legendary Bob Geldof yesterday.
Casually dropping in with his partner, Jeanne Marine, Bob kept things classic and cozy, enjoying a bowl of homemade vegetable soup and a tasty toastie as posted on their Facebook page.

While he’s known globally for his activism and rock history, he seemed right at home in the heart of Clonakilty.
For those who don't know, Bob’s links to the Rebel County run deep.
He attended the West Cork History Festival in Skibbereen in 2022 where he read out a letter as part of an exclusive film reflecting on An Gorta Mór and more recent famines in Africa and elsewhere and also visited the town in 2018 to visit a world famous Famine exhibition which was held in the Uillinn West Cork Arts Centre.
His mother, Evelyn Weller, was a Cork native from Princes Street, and Bob spent many of his childhood summers holidaying along the Cork coast.
He has often described himself as 'half-and-half' Cork, and his visit this week, which also included a stop at Ballyvolane House, proves his love for the West Cork landscape hasn't faded.
