SEPTEMBER was a busy month at Dromore National School.

In the junior room, the theme was ‘All About Me’ and pupils created lovely artwork, learned the song I Am Special, and shared family photos on the interactive TV.

In the middle room, second, third and fourth class explored the work of artist Claude Monet.

They painted water lilies inspired by his style.

The pupils in fifth and sixth class have been enjoying chess and practising new tactics.

They also created impressive clay sculptures in art, using tin foil as an armature.

Pupils from third to sixth class are attending swimming lessons at The Water School.

Every fortnight, the library bus visits the school.

Fifth and sixth class read with younger pupils during Reading Buddies on Monday and Wednesday mornings.

Both the junior and middle rooms are participating in fun activities in Maths Stations each week.

On September 25th, the school celebrated SNA Appreciation Day to thank its two wonderful SNAs, Trish and Bernadette, and acknowledged their fantastic school secretary, Trish.

The school finished the month with Friendship Week and pupils enjoyed wellbeing activities on kindness and inclusion, had a friendship buddy to play with at breaktimes, and rounded off the week with Golden Time on Friday afternoon.
