Last Friday the proceeds of the Galley Head Swim were presented to each of the chosen charities for Galley Head Swim 2025 - Marymount Hospice, Cancer Connect, CoAction and Samaritans West Cork. Just under €80,000 was raised this year with every penny going to the charities. Each charity received a total of €19,418.32. Dreeny National School is delighted that its new weather station is now fully live. It records real-time temperature, rainfall, wind speed, humidity and pressure directly from the Dreeny NS grounds. It will help predict rising levels and should give 12 to 24 hour notice of flooding risks. The river gauge will be put in over the coming weeks.
