A SPINE-tingling Halloween Trail is running at Kinsale’s Charles Fort this Halloween.

‘The Hour of Darkness is Upon Us’ promises that visitors will have the chance to ‘delve into the darkest corners of the fortress and face your fears’. Bring a torch!

The event is free to children under 12 and will run daily from 10am to 4pm until November 2nd. It’s one of a series of spooky events organised at OPW Heritage sites across the country this Halloween.

Minister of State with responsibility for the OPW, Kevin “Boxer” Moran, said: ‘It is great to see such a diverse range of events on offer at a number of OPW locations throughout the country this October.

‘Families will be in for a fright with a range of ghoulish tours, spooky treasure hunts and other fun activities on offer;  there’s truly something for everyone, young and old.’
