Lisavaird Food Group, a subsidiary of Lisavaird Co-Op, has entered into a conditional agreement to acquire Morgan’s Fine Fish, a Louth-based seafood processing company.
The proposed deal marks a significant step in Lisavaird’s presence in the Irish seafood sector, building on the success of its seafood production and distribution operations for over 40 years which include Glenmar Ireland, Glenmar UK and Bluewave.
Morgan’s, say Lisavarid, introduces a retail arm to the West Cork company’s seafood business with a substantial processing capability in the North East. Morgan’s is a fifth-generation, family-owned seafood processor with roots dating back to 1860.

From its facility in Omeath, the business supplies fresh and frozen seafood to retail, foodservice, wholesale and healthcare customers throughout Ireland. The company employs more than 80 people. The acquisition is subject to regulatory review and approval by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC).
Both companies will continue to operate independently in the meantime and there will be no changes to day-to-day operations, customer service, or supplier arrangements. Martin Dineen, CEO of Lisavaird Co-Op, said the proposed acquisition would ‘bring significant benefits to both businesses.’
‘Morgan’s is a company with an exceptional heritage, a strong reputation for quality and a commitment to sustainable seafood.’
