Carbery Macra members gathered in style at the Eldon Hotel, Skibbereen, recently for the regional titles night for an evening that showcased outstanding talent, confidence and community spirit.

Ten members took to the stage, each delivering performances of an exceptionally high standard making sure that the judges’ task was not an easy one.

At the end of the night, three worthy winners were crowned and will go on to represent the Carbery region at a national level later this year.

‘Mr Personality’ was awarded to Eugene Daly of Caheragh Macra, ‘Queen of the Castle’ went to Sophie Daly of Bantry Macra, while Ellen Lucey of Dunmanway Macra claimed the title of ‘Ms Blue Jeans Country Queen’. Congratulations to all three, and they are sure to do Carbery proud on the national stage.

Meanwhile, Bantry and Kilmeen Macra are preparing to represent the club at the Capers National Final, which took place on Saturday, January 31st in the Éire Óg Pavilion, Ovens.

Throughout the month, members also took part in a running initiative organised by the Macra President in aid of breast cancer awareness, raising funds for a vital cause.

The next regional meeting will be held in Kirby’s in Caheragh on Tuesday, February 17th.
