CORK LGFA’s minors and U14s face important fixtures in their respective Munster and All-Ireland championships this weekend.
Kieran O’Shea’s Cork minors head to Banteer on Saturday (2pm throw-in) for a meeting with Clare in this year’s Munster LGFA minor final.
Cork blew away Limerick in their final provincial group outing, winning easily to maintain a perfect record of five wins from five outings.

Róisín Ní Liatháin, Laura Walsh, Lauren Finnegan, Autumn Devereaux and Castlehaven’s Ellen Connolly were amongst the goals in a comprehensive win over Limerick.
West Cork LGFA players hoping to make an impact in Saturday’s provincial minor decider include Katie Murphy (Rosscarbery), Evelyn McCarthy (Bandon), Róisín Duggan (Clonakilty), Caoimhe Foley (Courcey Rovers), Hannah Deasy, Caoimhe O’Donnell, Áine Kearney and Anna Kelleher (all Kinsale).

Cork’s U14s are in Nenagh for an All-Ireland LGFA Platinum Series quarter-final clash with Limerick on Saturday (noon throw-in).
The Rebels qualified for the last eight of the Platinum Series following two wins and a loss in their Group A qualifying blitz at the end of April in Mountmellick GAA’s grounds in county Laois.
Cork defeated Galway 2-5 to 0-7 in their opening game. Katie Whelton (1-2), Eirinn Coppinger (1-0), Caoimhe McCarthy, Annie McElroy and Molly Philpott scored for Cork.
A superb 1-7 to 1-6 defeat of Tyrone followed before Cork agonisingly lost out to Meath, 2-5 to 0-10, in their final Group A clash.
Lucy Conroy, Caroline Creedon, Beth Hegarty, Annie McElory, Molly Philpott and Aoife O’Connell were on target in the Cork win over Tyrone.
Katie Whelton, Laura Murphy, Milana Collins, Creedon, McElroy and Philpott scored in the loss to Meath.
West Cork players hoping to qualify for an All-Ireland U14 semi-final will include Cara Daly (Ibane Ladies), Chloe Walsh (Dohenys), Éirinn Coppinger, Róisín O’Sullivan (both Rosscarbery), Eve O’Sullivan, Milana Collins, Nicole Sullivan, Ruby Humston (all O’Donovan Rossa), Katie Whelton (Castlehaven) and Lauren Young (Kinsale).

Clann na nGael, Castlehaven and O’Donovan Rossa experienced contrasting fortunes in the Cork Credit Unions Cork LGFA county football leagues last weekend.
O’Donovan Rossa’s Division 1 Group 1 county league loss came at the hands of Carrigaline in Skibbereen.
Rossas were unable to contain a lively Carrigaline attack before succumbing to a 3-15 to 2-5 defeat. Elaine O’Donovan, Sinéad Farrell (1-1 each), Lia Hogan (0-2) and Ellen Healy (0-1) were on target for the hosts.
On the same afternoon, Castlehaven lost a Division 1 Group 2 encounter, 7-15 to 4-4, away to Mourneabbey. Mairead O’Driscoll (2-1), Ellie McCarthy (1-2) and Shelley Daly (1-1) scored for the Haven in a game former Cork senior’s Ciara O’Sullivan (2-6) and Doireann O’Sullivan (1-4) provided the bulk of Mourneabbey’s total.
Roisin O’Sullivan (1-2), Ciara O’Callaghan, Anna Ryan, Amber O’Connell (1-0 each), Kate O’Brien, Sarah Finnegan and Grace Cooney (0-1 each) were also on target.
Clann na nGael came away from Youghal with their third Division 5 win in four outings to join Ballinhassig in a share of the league’s lead. The West Cork LGFA club ran out 4-13 to 1-4 winners with Catriona Tobin netting a hat-trick.
