THREE West Cork rowers have been selected on the Team Ireland squad heading to the 2025 World Rowing in Turkey next month.

The event in Manavgat, Antalya – from November 6th to 9th – will bring together the world’s best coastal rowers to compete in fast-paced head-to-head racing in dynamic coastal conditions.

Luke Nixon (Kilmacsimon Rowing Club) will team up with Thomas Sheridan (Sligo Rowing Club) in the junior men’s double. Gabrielle O'Donoghue (Rosscarbery Rowing Club) will partner Kate Dunne (Wicklow Rowing Club) in the junior women’s double. Also, Miriam Sheehan (Castletownbere Rowing Club) and Donagh Claffey (University of Galway Boat Club) will compete in the mixed double.

Jeff O'Donoghue (Rosscarbery RC) will travel as one of seven coaches. Speaking ahead of the championships, Rowing Ireland Head of High Performance, Niall O’Carroll said: ‘Beach Sprints is an exciting and rapidly developing format within rowing, and it’s fantastic to see such depth and commitment across our coastal athletes.’
