West Cork man nets only goal in win against Georgia
BANDON’S Conor Hourihane scored the only goal as the Republic of Ireland beat Georgia 1-0 in a Euro 2020 qualifier at the Aviva Stadium.
The West Cork man curled in a superb free kick in the 36th minute of the first half to give the boys in green the lead – and score his first international goal in the process.
As it turned out it was the match winner in Mick McCarthy’s first home game back in charge of Ireland.
It’s now two wins from two for Ireland following the 1-0 win away to Gibraltar on Saturday – a game where Hourihane was named man of the match.
