Doubts surrounding inter-county future of ten-time All-Ireland winner

HAS ten-time All-Ireland winning Cork ladies football star Valerie Mulcahy kicked her last ball for the county?

There has been speculation surrounding the inter-county future of the highly-decorated Cork forward and Cork ladies’ football manager Ephie Fitzgerald admits he’s in the dark – but he did reveal that Mulcahy told him she was retiring when they spoke last.

‘I haven’t spoken to Valerie in a long time and she intimated the last time I spoke to her that she was retiring so I’m taking her on her word on that,’ the Cork boss told Jerome Quinn in a video production for the LGFA in the wake of Sunday’s crucial Lidl National League win (6-15 to 1-11) against Galway in Tuam.
