Three Clonakilty players named on Cork minor football team

There's a strong West Cork presence on the Cork minor football team that plays Limerick this Wednesday night in the Munster championship.

THREE members of Clonakilty’s South West U21 A football championship winning team have been selected on the Cork minor football side to take on Limerick this Wednesday night in a Munster MFC quarter-final at the Gaelic Grounds.

Tiarnán O’Connell, David Lowney and Sean McEvoy all start, while a fourth Clonakilty player, Mark White, is named as sub goalkeeper.

There is more West Cork interest as Ronan Walsh (Castlehaven) and Gary Murphy (Castletownbere) will also start on Wednesday night, while Cathal O’Rourke (Carbery Rangers) and Stephen Leonard (Ilen Rovers) are on the bench.
