SKIBBEREEN rowers Mark O’Donovan and Shane O’Driscoll won the B final of the lightweight men’s pair at the World Rowing Championships in Aiguebelette in France this morning.

A fantastic achievement by Mark and Shane, they hit the front just before halfway and rowed strong to win, which places the Ireland crew seventh in the world.

Ireland (6:46.44) were followed past the line by Spain (6:46.59) in second and the Czech Republic (6:47.54) in third.
