YOU can take the boys out of West Cork but you can't take West Cork out of the boys!

Just after Skibbereen brothers Gary and Paul O'Donovan won their heat of the lightweight men's double sculls at the Olympics in Rio on Monday evening, they gave an absolutely brilliant interview to RTÉ.

Here in West Cork, we know Gary and Paul and their antics well, and now the entire country is being treated to the popular duo who have taken the Olympics in their stride, and remain unfazed by it all.

Younger brother Paul, reacting to yesterday's racing which was called off due to the windy weather conditions, said: 'We were disappointed that we couldn't race yesterday, we were looking forward to that, it would have been a bit of craic!'

Gary added: 'We are well used to a bit of wind, that kinda thing wouldn't faze us at all!'

The European champions now race in the semi-final on Wednesday afternoon.
