O’DONOVAN Rossa were crowned Rebel Óg West minor A football champions after defeating Bantry Blues 2-7 to 1-9 in a thrilling final at Church Cross on Saturday evening.
The Skibbereen side led 1-6 to 1-3 at half-time – Elliot Connolly scoring the first of his two goals for the winners while Shane McSweeney goaled for Bantry.
When Connolly scored his second goal early in the second half, Skibb led 2-6 to 1-4, but back came Bantry and points from Jack McCarthy, Jack O’Neill and Eoghan O’Shea closed the gap to one point in the closing stages.
Brave defending by Rossas saw them hold out for a great win.
