THE management merry-go-round is in full swing in West Cork’s senior football clubs.
Already, Clonakilty (Paul Holland) and Castlehaven (James McCarthy) have announced new senior football managers, and 2014 Cork SFC finalists Carbery Rangers have turned to former Cork selector Ronan McCarthy (Douglas) to take over as their new boss.
McCarthy, who was in the running for the Cork senior role last year, succeeds Micheál O’Sullivan, who stepped down in December after four seasons in charge. Maurice Moore will be the strength and conditioning coach.
Meanwhile, Ilen Rovers have appointed a new management team of Dominic Casey and Florence O’Driscoll to guide their fortunes this season. This duo was previously in charge of Ilen between 2007 and 2009.
There is also change in Dohenys’ senior football management team as both Brian Herlihy (Cork minor manager) and Cathal Crowley (work reasons) have stepped back from the setup for 2016.
Steven Mohane and Michael O’Donovan remain on from last year, and are joined by Mark Farr and Tony O’Sullivan, who were in charge of Dohenys’ successful junior B team in 2015. A fifth selector could yet be added.
There have been no managerial changes in both O’Donovan Rossa (Shane Crowley) and Newcestown (Tim Wilson and Kevin Long).
