14 teams still in the running for top prize in Carbery junior football
LAST year’s defeated South West JAFC finalists Kilmacabea take on Kilmeen in round three of this year’s championship, following the draw made last night.
Kilmacabea defeated St Colum’s after a replay in round one and they now meet a lively Kilmeen team that won the county junior B football title last year and that beat Ilen Rovers in round one of the JAFC this season.
If Kilmacabea defeat Kilmeen, there is a good chance they will face another one of the title favourites, St Mary’s, in the quarter-finals, provided the Saints get the better of St Oliver Plunkett’s.
The full Round 3 draw for the 2016 Rowa/Rowew Pharma South West JAFC is:
A – St Mary's v St Oliver Plunkett’s
B – Kilmacabea v Kilmeen
C – Gabriel Rangers v Castlehaven
D – Clann na nGael v Diarmuid Ó Mathunas
E – Ballinascarthy v Ilen Rovers
F – O’Donovan Rossa v St Colum’s
G – Tadgh MacCarthaigh – a bye
H – Barryroe – a bye
