BANDON made it two wins from three in Division 3 of the county hurling league with a commanding 4-14 to 1-3 victory over Russell Rovers.

The Carbery club were dominant against their injury-hit opponents, with goals from Michael Cahalane, Kevin Hannon, Conor Calnan and Denis O’Mahony. The Lilywhites now sit joint second in the standings.

Blarney remain the only side with a 100 percent record after a 0-20 to 1-12 win over Lisgoold to go top of the division.

Courcey Rovers and Ballinhassig, like Bandon, also made it two wins from three after victories over Inniscarra and Castlelyons respectively, while Fermoy saw off Éire Óg.

In Division 2, Newcestown’s winning streak came to an end following a 1-19 to 0-10 defeat to Erin’s Own. Richard O’Sullivan, Conor O’Neill, Podge Collins, Ciaran Hurley and Colm Dinneen were all on target for the West Cork side.

Bride Rovers lead the way with three wins from three after a 1-19 to 1-7 success against Kanturk. Ballincollig sit second following a 0-21 to 0-18 win over Carrigaline, while Na Piarsaigh defeated Ballymartle.

In Division 6, Argideen Rangers moved into second place thanks to a narrow 2-14 to 0-19 win over Mayfield. Seán Walsh and Eoin Lawton struck the goals for the Timoleague club. Charlie Twomey (0-5f), James Crowley and John Michael O’Callaghan (0-3 each), along with Matthew Lawton (0-2) and Finbarr Butler (0-1), also contributed.

Diarmuid Ó Mathúnas were edged out by Killavullen, 2-11 to 1-17. Two goals from Jamie Lucey kept the Castletownkenneigh side in contention, but the Avondhu outfit proved too strong. Caolan O’Donovan, Kevin O’Donovan, Gearoid O’Donovan, Willie Horgan and James Fleming also got on the scoresheet.

Ballinascarthy remain rooted to the bottom after a 3-13 to 1-11 defeat to Erin’s Own. Darragh Hennessy, Connall Cullinane, Colm O’Brien, Cillian Cullinane and Brian O’Donovan impressed for the West Cork side. Ballygiblin top the table after beating Sarsfields, while Aghada overcame Kinsale.

Barryroe are keeping pace at the top of Division 7 after a 1-12 to 0-11 win over Na Piarsaigh – their second victory from three outings following defeat to Carraig na bhFear. Kilshannig and Ballinora both maintained perfect records with wins over St Finbarr’s and Carraig na bhFear, while Passage West and Killeagh defeated Douglas and Meelin.

In Division 5, Kilbrittain were not in action as their clash with Glen Rovers was postponed. The Black and Amber remain second, with Dungourney the only side to capitalise following a win over Cloyne. Midleton’s second string, Tracton and Castlemartyr also recorded victories over Ballygarvan, Youghal and Milford.
