In an exclusive to The Southern Star, nine-time All-Ireland winner Nollaig Cleary has retired from both county and club football.

NINE-TIME All-Ireland winner Nollaig Cleary exclusively told The Southern Star this week that she has retired from both county and club football.
In an extensive interview in today’s Southern Star the 35-year-old Cork GAA great explained why she has decided to hang up her boots, how hard that decision was to make, how much she will miss football, plus her thoughts on Cork’s drive for ten All-Irelands this season, and a lot, lot more.
‘I have given everything I can at this stage to Cork football and now is the right time for me to retire,’ Nollaig told The Southern Star.
‘It was a hard decision to make because it’s been such a huge part of my life for so long. I’m really going to miss it, but at the same time everything has to come to an end at some stage and I feel now is the right time for me to call it a day.’
