RUAIRI Deane suffered a shoulder injury as Bantry Blues lost to Eire Og, 3-10 to 2-6, in the first round of the Cork PIFC at Ballingeary on Friday evening.
Just back from a cruciate injury suffered in last year’s Munster SFC final against Kerry, Deane was knocked to the ground early in the second half and stayed down clutching his shoulder before being replaced.
The Cork player is set to have a scan on his shoulder on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Bantry will now face Na Piarsaigh in the losers’ round following this loss to an Eire Og side inspired by Cork ace Daniel Goulding, who kicked 1-8 on the night. Both teams were reduced to 14 men in the second half.
