CORK footballers will face Laois in Round 4 of the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers next weekend.

In this morning’s draw Cork – one of the four losing provincial finalists – were the first team out of the bowl and they were paired with Laois, who have come through the qualifiers.

The date, time and venue of this game will be announced later today, as Cork look to build on an encouraging Munster SFC display against Kerry.

The Rebels know that if they can beat Laois then they will qualify for the Super 8s in Group 2 alongside Dublin, Roscommon and the winner of Cavan v Tyrone.

Laois are beaten Leinster semi-finalists. They lost 3-13 to 0-11 against Meath, having beaten Westmeath 0-12 to 0-10 in the last eight. Into the qualifiers then and in Round 2, Laois beat Derry by 1-13 to 0-12 and they followed that up with a 0-20 to 0-15 win against Offaly last weekend in Round 3.

The Round 4 draw is as follows: Cork v Laois, Meath v Clare, Cavan v Tyrone, Galway v Mayo.
