Uillinn West Cork arts centre to host its first Christmas Craft and Gift Fair

Preparations are underway for the first Uillinn Christmas Fair taking place at Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre, Skibbereen on Friday December 18th and Saturday 19th.

PREPARATIONS are underway for the first Uillinn Christmas Fair taking place at Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre, Skibbereen on Friday December 18th and Saturday 19th from 10am to 6pm each day.

It offers an opportunity for artists, craftspeople and makers of seasonal goods and gift items to showcase and sell their products in the iconic Uillinn building which has established great footfall, is not dependant on the weather, and is located right in the heart of Skibbereen.

Admission is free to the public and there will be a mulled wine reception, face painting and carol singers to entertain whilst browsing among the thirty or so exhibitors. 

Already confirmed is Ruth Fortune, maker of Christmas wreaths and other Christmas themed items; Rossbrin Creative, makers of beautiful wooden gifts and homewear; felt and textile artist, Stephanie Tenier of Feltastik -  functional, beautiful and eco-friendly designs for interiors; Sukey Silk’s textile artworks, Irene McCarthy’s beautifully crafted soft toys; and Mairi Stone’s exquisitely fine, textured porcelain, inspired by nature’s organic forms and structures. 

Also participating will be jewellery-maker Colin Johnson, well known for his beautiful collection inspired by the flora and fauna of Lough Hyne; Trish Goodbody who makes fused glass jewellery inspired by the scenery and ever-changing light of West Cork; and contemporary knitwear designer, Sharon Rose with her unique, stylish and inspirational designs for adults and children.
