A woman who admitted stealing groceries to the value of €259.81 from a supermarket in Castletownbere told Judge Joanne Carroll she regretted her actions.
The accused, Jenna Pierce (34) of 24 Mount Saint Joseph’s Heights at Baker’s Road in Gurranabraher, was legally represented at Bantry District Court by solicitor Flor Murphy.
He said his client was admitting the charge of theft at SuperValu on July 20th last, but he said the items were recovered so there was no loss to the shop owner.

The accused told Judge Joanne Carroll: ‘I was drunk that day and I take full responsibility for my actions. I took a few pints that day – the day of the Cork Tipp match – and I regret it.’
The case against the accused was adjourned to a sitting of Clonakilty District Court on March 3rd. Judge Carroll requested that a probation report be provided at that court.
