THE people of Crookhaven, Goleen and Brow Head have been given a massive ‘go raibh maith agat’ by the Star Wars team.

THE people of Crookhaven, Goleen and Brow Head have been given a massive ‘go raibh maith agat’ by the Star Wars team, by way of a full page in this week’s paper.

The massive ad thanks the local people for their ‘warm welcome’ adding that the team were ‘captivated by the landscape of the Wild Atlantic Way’ and its ‘spectacular backdrop’.

‘The tireless commitment of our Irish Crew, the enthusiasm and support of all the people of West Cork have made our Irish adventure one we will always treasure,’ it adds, with a very cute final line: ‘Go mbeidh an fórsa leat!!’ (May the force be with you).

It seems our landscape really did captivate the crew – and especially one of its main stars, Daisy Ridley, who last week tweeted: ‘Home after the most INCREDIBLE two weeks in Ireland. Happy and exhausted.’ She also tweeted a photo of herself taking a dip in the lake at Liss Ard near Skibbereen and another of waking up in her bedroom there.
