FOUNDER of Skibbereen-based suicide prevention charity Lisheens House, Noreen Murphy, has been honoured for her work.

Noreen was presented with the Inspiring Woman Social Enterprise award at the Graham Norton Gin Inspiring Awards at a ceremony in Cork last Friday night.

Posting on social media. the charity wrote: ‘Five years on from starting Lisheens House around her kitchen table it was a proud moment for everyone who has helped in any way. Without you we would not have lasted five days. Community Mental Health Matters.’

Comments congratulating her on her win, described it as ‘well-deserved’. The awards are designed to recognise ‘the success, dedication and extremely high levels of quality and service provided by women in all industries and sectors in Ireland.’

Lisheens House has just launched their new brand identity having commissioned Southern Star Creative to redesign their new logo.

Noreen said it was nice to be recognised on the night by judges and for the charity to get national exposure at the event.

She said that the charity was incredibly busy at the moment. Depending entirely on donations and fundraising, she said their services, which includes free counselling, were as necessary and valuable as ever.
