A RESCUED dog that suffered terrible injuries – including a horrendous wound to the back of her neck and an almost detached ear – has been adopted by one the veterinary team that helped heal her.

Rebel had been found in almost comatose state in someone’s garden in West Cork over the Christmas period and when the West Cork Animal Welfare Group (WCAWG) posted her plight on their Facebook page earlier this month they were inundated with donations from people who took her to their hearts.

Tory Joyce from WCAWG said that Rebel is doing brilliantly now and healing very well and was delighted to confirm that one of the veterinary team has agreed to adopt her.

‘She left the vets last Monday and isn’t due another operation until next month as she needs spaying and she also has mammary tumours so she needs a mammary strip and she has a rotten tooth, but that will all be dealt with,’ Tory said.

‘She is now going into even more veterinary care and she’s doing little walks.’

Tory and the team at WCAWG want to thank all those who donated to the charity which helped fund the veterinary bills needed for Rebel’s treatment and surgeries.
