Regatta, music and fun for all the family at Cork Week 2016

VOLVO Cork Week, which takes place July 10th-15th primarily attracts sailors for the quality of its racing. 

This sailing event and is renowned worldwide for exciting and challenging racing. The very special regatta brings a unique social aspect and the fun filled, varied entertainment line up taking place during Volvo Cork Week is sure to attract crowds of people from sailing and non-sailing backgrounds. 

This year’s programme has fun for all the family, including a fun day in Crosshaven Village Square with a rodeo bull, dunk tank, bungee run, face painting and colouring competitions – all taking place Saturday 10th July. 

For motor enthusiasts, Volvo will have a classic car display and a special competition where one lucky winner will drive away with their very own Volvo V40 for a year. The nation’s favourite architect Dermot Bannon will share his expert knowledge at a Q&A on the village stage, on Saturday 9th July. Ladies, treat yourselves to the glamorous RNLI Ladies lunch on Wednesday the 13th July hosted by celebrity hotelier Francis Brennan. 

Party the night away throughout the week with an eclectic line up of music including The Papa Zitas, Dublin Salsa Band, The Loungeman, Billy Lynch, Colin McClean Latin Trio, Andy Dunne, DV8, Big Generator, Savage Cabbage and festival headliners The Frank and Walters, who will bring the week to a close, followed by a fantastic firework display on Friday the 15th of July.
