NETWORK Ireland’s Cork branch is partnering with AIB to host their next event in the bank’s iconic 100-year-old building at 66 South Mall in Cork city.

Guest speakers include Mary McKenna,Tour America managing director and Brian Keating, brand director at AIB, who will give an insight into the topic of personal branding.

Speaking ahead of the September event, Helen Wycherley, Network Cork president, who also runs West Cork’s Celtic Ross Hotel, said that as part of an on-going partnership with AIB, Network Cork was delighted the bank was hosting the joint event from its ‘magnificent’ headquarters.

‘Personal branding is about identifying and communicating what makes us unique and relevant so we send a clear, consistent message about who we are and what we are good at so this will set us apart from everyone else,’ she said.

‘We are the head marketer for our brand and the personal brand we develop in business will build our reputation and help grow our network so people will seek us out for our knowledge and expertise.’

Mary McKenna founded her company in 1995 and has built it from three staff to now employing 50 staff in Dublin and Cork.

The company includes the Cruise Holidays and Magic Holidays brands.

She will share her thoughts on what is personal brand and how she has developed her own brand.

AIB’s Brian is a leading marketing and business leader, with over 20 years’ experience of developing and delivering impact and profit-driven business solutions within industry-leading organisations such as Diageo, the Coca-Cola Company, Aryzta and AIB.

In Sept 2013, Brian joined AIB as brand director with responsibility for the rejuvenation of the AIB brand.

‘Those attending will learn how to reflect their brand in everything they do in their personal and professional life including their use of social media, in their office surroundings, volunteer activities and more,’ said Ms Wycherley.

The AIB South Mall building celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.
