Local ingredients star as chefs shine for fundraiser

Ballydehob Community Hall will welcome local chefs on Friday, February 27th, when Alan Shannon and Matthew Brownie will give an exciting food demonstration using the finest local ingredients.

BALLYDEHOB Community Hall will welcome local chefs on Friday, February 27th, when Alan Shannon and Matthew Brownie will give an exciting food demonstration using the finest local ingredients.

The event is a fundraiser for the Ballydehob Community Hall and Ballydehob Union of Parishes and local food producers have kindly agreed to offer tastings on the night. Those producers include: Josephine Ratliff Relishes, Gubbeen Farmhouse products, Caherbeg Free Range Pork Ltd, Skeaghanore Duck, Francine of Coolagh Bakes, Scratch My Pork, and The Cultured Food Company.

The top prize in the raffle will be a voucher for a cookery demonstration and lunch for two with Darina Allen. Other prizes included dinner for two in the following eateries: Antonio’s of Ballydehob, Willie Pa’s, and the Maritime Hotel Bantry. There will also be a food producers’ hamper and a Drinagh hamper to give away on the night.

Tickets, at €10, include light refreshments at ‘half time’, there will also be wine for sale.

Tickets can be purchased at Ballydehob Post Office, the Ballydehob Hall Charity Shop, or at the door on the night. For more information call 086 0530430.
