Celine MacDonald of Seagrove, Leap, submitted her favourite selfie to a competition she saw on Facebook and thought nothing more of it until she received a phone call asking her to go to the interview round in Dublin.

Celine, who works as a waitress at An Chistin Beag in Skibbereen, is as pleasant as she is beautiful and was told that very same day that she had made it to the final.

The final will take place in Dublin on Sunday, April 24th and the winner will be announced on the night. There are just eleven young women competing for the first, second and third prizes.

The winner will get to go to Korea to represent Ireland at “Miss Supertalent World” and receive a modelling contract – with second and third also receiving contracts.

Celine told The Southern Star: ‘I’m not nervous but I am very, very excited. I have made friends with the girls in the competition so I am looking forward to seeing them. Although I suppose when it comes to the final on Sunday, the nerves will hit me.

‘I don’t follow fashion,’ Celine said. ‘I do my own thing. But I have been told that my fashion sense is unique. Some people have said it is closest in style to Cara Delevingne.’

On Sunday night, Celine will be singing a version of Hozier’s Work Song so, as a practice run, she got up in front of a crowd in Cahalane’s last Tuesday and performed for the first time every in front of a crowd. It went well, she said.

Celine’s ambition is to become a member of the cabin crew with Emirates, but if a career in modelling called, she said she’d be ‘delighted’.
