ONE of the country’s original food trucks, the Food Depot in Courtmacsherry, is to close at the end of this month.
It has been run by Masterchef Ireland winner Diana Dodog and her husband Mike for the past six years.
They wrote on Facebook: ‘Our time in Food Depot is coming to and end. The food truck chapter is almost over. After six successful years, we have decided to change direction and explore new challenges ... Our last days under the hatch will be the October Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday!’
Diana, originally from Hungary, told The Southern Star they were still processing the decision themselves. They don’t have any immediate plans, but are ‘taking stock after a busy period in our lives.’
This is the second surprise food closure in West Cork in recent weeks and follows Deasy’s plans to close in Ring on December 31st.
Meanwhile, the 18 ft food truck is for sale on Done Deal for €20,000.
