 The Michael Collins News was launched on August 22nd, the 94th anniversary of Michael Collins’ death. 

THE Michael Collins Centre in Castleview, Clonakilty has launched a new, free, colour historical magazine.

 The Michael Collins News was launched on August 22nd, the 94th anniversary of Michael Collins’ death. 

The magazine carries articles mainly dealing with the period of history encompassing Michael Collins’ public life. This period includes WWI, the 1916 rebellion, the War of Independence, the Truce, the Treaty and the Civil War. 

Editor Tim Crowley hopes to publish at least one, if not two, issues annually over the next few years and he is looking for historians and writers to contribute articles for future issues. 

Michael Collins News is available free in museums, hotels, petrol stations and other businesses throughout West Cork, and at O’ Donovan’s hotel and the tourist office in Clonakilty.

 For anyone in Ireland who wants a copy, send a self-addressed €1.30 stamped A4 envelope to The Michael Collins Centre, Castleview, Clonakilty, Co Cork.
