FORTY shades of ginger, auburn, strawberry blonde and fiery red represented the Irish Redhead Convention at Cork City’s St Patrick’s Day parade, to launch this year’s convention in Crosshaven in August.

Redheads came from England, Holland and Northern Ireland to be part of the forty-plus redheads marching in this year’s parade.

The Irish Redhead Convention is a whacky, ginger loving celebration of everything to do with red hair, according to the organisers of this increasingly popular event.

Each August, for the past six years, the small seaside village of Crosshaven turns into a glorious sea of ginger, as hundreds of redheads gather from across the globe for this unique Irish festival of flame hair, freckles and frolics.

Ahead of the main event this year and new to the programme is an exciting 10 day ginger journey across Ireland.

The Great Redhead Road Trip starts and finishes in Dublin from August 15-24, discovering all the best red hair-itage that Ireland has to offer.

The whole trip comes to a splendid and ginger-ful close at the main event, the Irish Redhead Convention in Crosshaven from August 21-23. Red-gister and find out more infomation on www.redheadconvention.ie
