Gardaí are investigating a two vehicle road traffic collision where a male driver died

A 24–YEAR-old male driver has died following a two vehicle road traffic collision, which occurred at Ballyhooleen in Ballinhassing at 1am this morning.

At approximately 1am this morning,  Gardaí and Emergency services attended the scene of a serious collision involving a car and a truck at the above location.

The 24 year old male driver of the car (only occupant) was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver and female passenger of the truck were taken to Cork University Hospital with non-serious injuries.

The scene is currently preserved and Garda forensic collision investigators have been requested to examine the crash site. The road remains closed and local traffic diversions remain in place.

Gardaí at Bandon are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward, particularly any motorists who were travelling in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage.
