THREE Ballygarvan brothers are to make their television debut on RTÉjr’s ‘Showtime’ series that airs on the children’s channel at the end of this month.

Produced by GMarsh TV for RTÉjr, this lively children’s series follows children and their families and looks at how they get their beloved sheep, ponies and calves ready to enter the local show.

For the Kingston brothers – Shane (9), Ronan (6) and Samuel (4) – that show was Ballygarvan Show back in August and a camera crew followed them as they prepared their calves for the prestigious show.

‘We had the production team here for five days during the summer and while it took up a lot of time with filming the three boys were very excited to be part of this programme,’ said their father John Kingston.

‘The fact that Ballygarvan Show will also be shown on it is very exciting and it will put it on the map.  We had a great day there. We picked up one first prize which was great and the three boys can look back at this programme in 20 years!’

‘Showtime’ follows the three brothers as they pick out their show calves two weeks before the show and begin training with John.

The fourth episode captures their busy preparation the day before the show which involves washing them and making sure their calves are presentable.

The fifth and final episode captures the excitement of show day as the three brothers put their hard work into practice.

The Kingstons will go on air, one episode a day, from Monday November 6th on RTÉjr for five days at 9.30am and  4.25pm and it will be repeated at the weekends at 9.25am and 5.15pm.
