BANTRY’S Lip Sync final will go down in local folklore as an incredible night’s entertainment in aid of very worth causes.

RTE’s Dancing with the Stars winner Jake Carter led the team of judges which included Brenda Dennehy of the Neil Prendeville radio show, Elma Walsh of  Live Life Foundation and  dance choreographer, Orna Phelan.

The final took place in a packed Maritime Hotel with MC comedian Alan Shortt who had the audience rolling in the aisles. Some 11 acts involving 55 people took part miming popular songs in a highly organised and professional show under the guidance of Martin Foran of Lip Sync Battles Ireland of Portlaoise.

All the proceeds went to Cork Arc and Bantry Hospice and huge credit is due to the  organising committee under Pat Morrissey and the host of volunteers who ensured the smooth running of both shows.

The audience also had a chance to vote and the winners, in a close competition, were Sister Act: the Keane family from Ballylickey comprising Stephen Keane and his sister Eileen Breen, Marian Keevers, Annie O’Donovan and Ger O’Shea who were a very popular choice. The main sponsor of the night were Keohanes of Bantry.
