AS part of this year’s Ballabuidhe festival in Dunmanway, the ‘Busking in Dunmanway’ event is set to take place from 2pm to 5pm on what is traditionally referred to as Fair Day.

Everyone is invited to attend and showcase their talents with the winner receiving €500. There are second and third prizes of €100 and €50 respectively. These prizes are sponsored by the Race Committee and Cork County Council.

Gateway FM will broadcast live on the day and will interview all participants. Other fun events include ‘Capture Ballabuidhe’ where participants are invited to submit photographs taken over the course of the festival, which starts on Saturday August 4th with the Belle of Ballabuidhe.

Photographs should be brought to O’Donovan’s shop front (former butcher shop) at 12 noon on Fair Day where they will be displayed until 5pm.

The winning photo will also be framed, courtesy of Andy Gibson, photographer. Second prize is a hamper sponsored by Carbery. Closing the Ballabuidhe there will be music in the Square with The Shruggs on Sunday at 8pm. For more contact Deirdre Kelly on 087 972 4023.
