A UNIQUE property on the outskirts of Courtmacsherry has sparked a bidding war that’s pushed it more than €100,000 over its first offer.

A traditional farmhouse, with five acres and with water frontage at Blind Strand, it came on the market recently guiding at €325,000.

Estate agent Henry O’Leary explained: ‘The first offer came in at €290,000 and that’s now gone to €400,000.’

There are five bidders involved and they’re from Cork, the UK, Germany, South Africa and Australia. The highest bid is currently from the UK.

Henry described the property as unique: ‘It’s very rare something like this comes around – the combination of a house, land and water frontage have made it very attractive to the bidders, the majority of whom are interested in relocating to the area.’

He said the property would work as a hobby farm, or suit an equestrian enthusiast.

This is a three-bed property and the master suite enjoys bay and beach views.

The décor may need some updating  but, importantly, it’s in good condition and is full of charm.
