Clonakilty Tidy Town members Mike Deasy, Roni Coomey and Diarmuid Cregan accepting their 26th gold medal, with 21 of these medals being in a row, at the recent celebration at the Rose Hotel, Tralee.

There was a very strong Cork presence at the Mayor of London's St Patrick's Day festival held on Sunday March 15th. Cork company John Sisk was the headline sponsor for the second year in a row and Clonakilty Blackpudding sponsored all the jerseys for the Fr Murphy's camogie and ladies Gaelic football club who led the parade carrying all the county and provincial flags. West Cork Jesters player David Keohane breaks free of a tackle by a Hellhounds player and went on to score a try at the rugby inclusion day hosted by Clonakilty RFC last Sunday. The day-long inclusive event featured a blitz for the underage teams from Cobh Pirates, Ballincollig Warriors, Clonakilty Tigers and West Cork Jesterlings. A ladies match with members from The Jesters, Bantry Bay, Clonakilty RFC and The Trailblazers followed and a men’s match, Jesters versus Corks Hellhounds, brought the successful inaugural event to a close.

The Townhouse went all out this year and produced a highly professional Father Ted float for the St Patrick’s Day parade which wowed the crowds in both Schull and Ballydehob. Everyone was delighted by the sight of Mrs Doyle who was played with enthusiasm by Toormore’s Dan Allen.
