CHEEKY TV personality Fred Siriex has been spotted in West Cork, making stops in Clonakilty, Baltimore and Kinsale while filming Tour de Fred, writes Martin Steinmetz.

The First Dates host pedalled across the region for the second season of his ITV series, showcasing the area to two million viewers.

The first season focused on Fred’s bike adventures in Northern Ireland.

This time around he’s exploring Wexford, Waterford and Cork.

In Clonakilty he had a taste of the famous Clonakilty Black Pudding at Edward Twomey’s butchers on Pearse Street.

He was full of good cheer as he chatted with staff about their craft and West Cork’s finest foods.

Fred was joined by his daughter, Olympic springboard diver Andrea Siriex.

A spokesperson for the Clonakilty Food Company said: ‘Fred was eager to experience the taste of our famous black pudding during his visit. Colette shared the history of our butcher shop and the story behind the product, which Fred and Andrea thoroughly enjoyed.’

And in the evening the TV entertainer was spotted at Inchydoney Beach treating himself to an ice cream from Clon Cones.

Owner Viola O’Donovan wrote on social media: ‘His TV crew and daughter enjoyed a delicious Clon Cone after their busy evening of filming with Liam at Inchydoney Surf School. They had an amazing day of sunshine for their filming.’

Fred also stopped off in Baltimore where he popped into the Algiers Inn, taking in the coastal views and fresh air.

The Algiers Inn staff wrote on Instagram: ‘Had a lovely visit from Fred and Andrea (...). They were filming around Baltimore and decided to come in for a chat.’

Fred and Andrea also paid a visit to Kinsale Food Tours where they learned about foraging and folklore along the West Cork coast from Suzanne Burns.

Suzanne said: ‘It was really fun. We were looking at wild plants and I was teaching Fred how you can use them for food and for your health.’

Tourism Ireland’s Judith Cassidy said the second series was set to show off Ireland’s ‘scenery, heritage and famously friendly faces’ to British viewers. Tour de Fred – Part Deux is going out on ITV1 and ITVX in 2026.
